Recall and complaint safety record from NHTSA. This configuration has not been crash-tested.
CRASH
DATANot crash-tested
The BMW X6 M is a high-performance Sport Activity Coupe occupying one of the most niche corners of the luxury market. Blending the elevated ride height of an SUV with a swooping fastback roofline and M Division power, it targets enthusiast-minded buyers who want supercar-adjacent performance without sacrificing everyday utility. It competes in a small but fierce segment against vehicles like the Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe.
The 2026 BMW X6 M has not been crash-tested by NHTSA, so it carries no Safety Index. Its safety record here is built from 2 recalls and 3 owner complaints on file, giving it a light recall and complaint burden.

Reviewers generally regard the X6 M as an engineering showcase, praising its surprisingly composed driving dynamics, powerful acceleration, and well-appointed interior materials for a vehicle of its size and shape. Most acknowledge the polarizing fastback styling as a deliberate trade-off. Ride comfort at lower speeds and rear headroom draw occasional criticism, while infotainment refinement and overall cabin quality earn consistent praise.
