ABOUT THE GMC SIERRA EV

The GMC Sierra EV is a full-size electric pickup truck aimed at buyers who want serious hauling and towing capability without a combustion engine under the hood. Positioned as a premium, work-capable alternative in the rapidly growing electric truck segment, it targets both fleet operators and private buyers who demand capability alongside modern technology. Note: the body type listed in source data as 'Sedan' appears to be a data classification error - this is a pickup truck.

VERDICT

The 2026 GMC Sierra Ev has not been crash-tested by NHTSA, so it carries no Safety Index. Its safety record here is built from 2 recalls and 4 owner complaints on file, giving it a light recall and complaint burden.
