DATANot crash-tested
The 2026 Land Rover Discovery MHEV is a three-row, mild-hybrid luxury SUV aimed at well-heeled families and adventure-minded buyers who want genuine off-road capability wrapped in a premium interior. Competing against the likes of the Volvo XC90 and BMW X7, it occupies a space where refinement and versatility matter as much as outright performance. The MHEV powertrain signals Land Rover's incremental move toward electrification.
The 2026 Land Rover Discovery Mhev has not been crash-tested by NHTSA, so it carries no Safety Index. Its safety record here is built from 1 recall and 1 owner complaint on file, giving it a light recall and complaint burden.
- shoppers who want the full federal safety picture in one place
Reviewers generally praise the Discovery for its commanding road presence, well-appointed cabin materials, and impressive off-road composure. Ride quality on pavement is considered smooth and composed, and the third-row packaging draws favorable comparisons within the segment. Some reviewers note that infotainment responsiveness and long-term interior refinement fall short of German competitors at similar price points, making value a recurring conversation.
