DATANot crash-tested
For the 2022 Land Rover Discovery, no federal crash-test data are available from NHTSA. Consequently, this model has not received an overall star rating, nor has a Safety Index been computed for it. The absence of these ratings means that a significant component of our usual safety assessment cannot be rendered. The record does, however, detail four recall campaigns. These addressed critical components: the frontal air bags, the electrical propulsion system, engine oil lubrication, and seat belt pretensioners. Additionally, seven unverified owner complaints have been reported to NHTSA. Consumers should note that the lack of crash-test results for the 2022 Land Rover Discovery precludes any definitive safety judgment based on federal testing.
The 2022 Land Rover Discovery was not crash-tested by NHTSA, carries four recall campaigns and a Light recall and complaint burden band, according to NHTSA data.

ANALYSISHow safe is the 2022 Land Rover Discovery?
The 2022 Land Rover Discovery enters the market with a Light burden band for recalls and owner complaints, signaling a lower volume of safety-related issues compared to other vehicles tracked by the Safety Desk. Four recalls have been issued. These address frontal airbag deployment hardware, an electrical DC/DC converter also found in other Land Rover platforms, engine lubrication components under a 2023 campaign, and seat belt pretensioners, which saw a 2022 campaign in the vehicle's launch year. Seven unverified owner complaints have been registered; these disproportionately concern the Electrical System, aligning with the DC/DC converter recall. This thematic consistency suggests an area requiring continued observation as recall remedy completion rates are established. No crash test data for the 2022 Discovery or directly comparable sibling model years are available, preventing a crash-test star rating.
