2024 Chevrolet Blazer Ev
Federal crash-test performance, recalls, and complaints, scored into one NHTSA Safety Index.
The Chevrolet Blazer EV is a fully electric midsize SUV targeting tech-forward family buyers who want a bold, performance-oriented alternative to mainstream crossovers. Launched for the 2024 model year, it sits at the intersection of Chevy's heritage nameplate and GM's Ultium EV platform, competing directly against the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y in a rapidly crowding segment.
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer Ev earns an NHTSA Safety Index of 77 out of 100, an average result driven by its federal crash-test stars and its recall record. Both frontal and side crash protection reached the full 5 stars. It has 5 recalls on record, reflected in the score.
- urban drivers exposed to side-impact risk
Reviewers generally praise the Blazer EV for its sharp styling, strong acceleration, and well-equipped interior, positioning it as one of the more driver-focused entries in the electric midsize SUV class. Most acknowledge that early software and quality concerns tempered initial enthusiasm, and the consensus is that later production examples represent a more refined ownership proposition.
