CRASH
DATANot crash-tested
The Ram ProMaster BEV is a full-size electric cargo van aimed squarely at last-mile delivery fleets, small businesses, and commercial operators looking to electrify their work vehicles. Built on the ProMaster platform, it competes in the growing battery-electric commercial van segment alongside rivals from Ford and Mercedes. Its buyers prioritize payload capacity and urban range over passenger comfort, making its safety profile a critical operational consideration.
The 2025 Ram Promaster Bev has not been crash-tested by NHTSA, so it carries no Safety Index. Its safety record here is built from 4 recalls and 5 owner complaints on file, giving it a light recall and complaint burden.
- shoppers who want the full federal safety picture in one place
Reviewers generally find the ProMaster BEV a practical, straightforward work tool that carries over the familiar ProMaster cabin layout with added electric powertrain complexity. Most praise its cargo volume and urban usability while noting that the interior refinement and driving dynamics are workmanlike rather than polished. Value is assessed primarily through a fleet-economics lens, and opinions on long-term build quality remain cautiously optimistic given the platform's newness.
