2025 Chevrolet Silverado Ev
Federal crash-test performance, recalls, and complaints, scored into one NHTSA Safety Index.
The Chevrolet Silverado EV is a full-size electric pickup truck aimed squarely at work-oriented buyers and tech-forward truck enthusiasts who want serious hauling capability without a combustion engine. Entering a fiercely competitive segment, it competes with the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T, positioning itself as a rugged, purpose-built electric workhorse with mainstream Chevy credibility behind it.
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado Ev earns an NHTSA Safety Index of 87 out of 100, a strong result driven by its federal crash-test stars and its recall record. Both frontal and side crash protection reached the full 5 stars. It has 1 recall on record, reflected in the score.

Reviewers generally regard the Silverado EV as a capable and technologically ambitious entry in the electric pickup segment, praising its driving refinement and feature set relative to traditional work trucks. Most acknowledge it as a strong competitor against established electric rivals, though some note that as a first-generation platform it continues to evolve in real-world ownership.
